THE KING EDDY (STUDIO BELL)

Established in 1905, the King Edward Hotel was Calgary's second oldest hotel and the city's longest operating bar and hotel when it closed in 2004. It was then restored to its original design and 1905 glory when it was acquired by the National Music Centre in 2008. Fast forward to 2018, the King Eddy reopened its doors and now offers exceptional food and beverages in a historic building, bringing live music of all genres back to East Village.

Just like other small businesses, the King Eddy temporarily closed their doors as a result of the pandemic on March 17th. The owners supported this decision to be proactive in keeping our community as safe and healthy as possible during this time. As they continue to monitor the situation closely, all shows and events are cancelled indefinitely at this location. This wasn't an easy decision as the King Eddy is a small venue committed to supporting the Calgary music community, but the health of their staff, guests, artists and community is top priority.

As more information is released, the King Eddy will update their closure dates on their website, so they invite you to stay tuned and follow them on social media for changes to the menu, dine-in service, dates and more. If you bought a ticket to a show during this time, the staff will be in touch by email with further details. For now, you can pre-order limited pickup and takeout dinner service on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The team at the King Eddy is beyond grateful for your support, and they look forward to seeing you when we all make it through this together!
